End of the school holiday boredom
What’s your first reaction when you discover that a long holiday is coming up? Your reaction would probably be that your ecstatic and can’t wait to escape from the daily routine of education, learning and homework. But your happiness would soon be over when you realise that you have nothing planned for the holidays. You think that there’s nothing more doing than watching TV, playing games and going on MSN all day, right? Wrong.
This boredom can be relieved by many activities. The first one is going to local sports clubs and camps, which are not just fun, but also boosts your health and social life, as you can make loads of new friends this way. Another remedy is to watch movies, which entertain you and inspire you with creative ideas. New movies which are coming out this summer include the star-studded Public Enemies, the infamous Star Trek and the legendary Harry Potter and the half blood prince. If theatre is what you love, then there are plenty of performances going on in the West End. Everything from the Lion King to Les Miserables, and Hairspray to Mamma Mia!
The other option to cure boredom is to try something new. Trying new things can broaden horizons and can probably be more fun than doing the same old thing again and again. Painting is a practical, fun and easy and if you’re an art lover, then there are plenty of things going on. There are lots of art exhibitions all around London art galleries, including the famous Tate Britain where you can get a chance to display your artworks! Visiting new places and experimenting with still photography, can improve understanding of new places, and who knows, photography could be a hidden talent of yours! Also, making scrapbooks can keep hold of good memories.
The reason for boredom could be a lack of social life. So going to parties or just even going out, meeting friends or making new ones can add to your communal factor-there won’t be any chance of boredom that way. Even social networking, like facebook and bebo, are great ways to stay in touch with friends and even make new ones. However it is still important to stay safe online. Another past-time is visiting the library for some holiday reading. Reading isn’t the same anymore-most movies and TV shows are based on books! Comics are also great past-times.
If you’re a true shopaholic and you haven’t been to Westfields London, then where have you been? Westfields is shopping to the max with over 250 stores, a cinema and over 20 restaurants. It’s a place where you can’t leave without buying something-I can guarantee that! It’s also that time of year for theme parks! Chessington, Alton towers and Thorpe Park-an adventurous rider is spoilt for choice! This year Thorpe Park has got a new attraction, SAW, the world’s most terrifying rollercoaster. In addition to, there is the Ripley’s believe it or not museum, which displays the oddest things!
In conclusion, there are so many things that you can do to cure boredom and so many places to see. These things are guaranteed to make your holiday nothing but exciting!
