New Year brings new films. I've seen so many cool looking trailers, and I have a huge list of films to watch as they come out. We've already been treated to blockbusters such as Sherlock Holmes and Avatar, yet it seems that there's still a lot more to come.

Green Zone

15, Out Now

As the Bourne series finishes, Matt Damon has leapt straight into another action packed movie. Matt Damon plays Chief Warrant Office Roy Miller tracking Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq (commonly known as nuclear bombs and the such). It's action-packed but don't expect the best plot line ever. A good adrenaline fueled watch, for the shoot-em-up action lover among us.

Alice in Wonderland

PG, Out Now

You might have read the famous book by Lewis Carol where the child Alice goes down the rabbit hole and has weird and wonderful adventures in a magical fantasy land. However, instead of another boring remake, director Tim Burton (Sweeney Todd, 9) adds to the original storyline by having the now 19 year old Alice return to Wonderland to see how things have changed since she's gone. Exploring the new Wonderland is no doubt going to be a visual treat. Also starring Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, you can expect some high end acting for the 109 minutes.

The Bounty Hunter

12A, Released 19th March

Gerard Butler plays a modern day bounty hunter who is sent to get his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston after she skips bail. Not an action-packed shooter, but a comedy to lighten the mood. Hilarity ensues as Milo (Gerard Butler) faces old memories whilst attempting to bring his wife Nicole in.

The Spy Next Door

PG, Released 19th March

Jackie Chan plays an ex-spy who comes face to face with seemingly his hardest assignment yet, babysitting his neighbour's 3 children. Similar to The Pacifier (2005, starring Vin Diesel), there's sure to be a few laughs in there.

Iron Man 2

TBC, Released 7th May

Robert Downey Jnr returns to play the famous Marvel superhero Iron Man as new super villain Whiplash, played by Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), imitates his technology to create a new threat to Tony Stark's care free lifestyle. I'm personally looking forward to this film most; it's sure to be great.
